blog note

Lately I’ve been going back to the games that I grew up playing. Worms, Wolfenstein 3D, Solitaire, SkiFree, you know, good old Windows 3.1 stuff. I got tired of all the decapitations, backstabbing, lighting stuff on fire, and crafting in The Elder Scrolls.

So I’ve decided to shift the focus of this blog from Skyrim/ESO back to my oldest gaming obsession: Minesweeper. I’ll be posting screenshots of my wins as I try to beat Expert in under a minute!

This one was just under 3 minutes:

I have a bad habit of Just Trying Something when I get stuck instead of logically reasoning it out 😦 9 mines left.

(Yes, this is an April Fool’s!)

5 projects i didn’t complete over break (and 2 things i did instead)

eisoj5:

1. annotated list of the skyrim mods I’m using on my new computer
2. t-shirt quilt
3. framing photos
4. queuing up enough posts on my main skyrim tumblr to get through the first month of the semester
5. clean up study

what i did do:
1. made a star wars dress
2. wrote sixteen thousand words of fanfic

(reblogging from my personal sideblog)

so. yep. gonna blast through a ton of .gifs over the weekend to get my queue filled up for a while. i do have the 365 days of nirnroot well underway at least 😉

okay

going off social media soon until after tomorrow night, because the longer I stay looking at FB or Tumblr or Twitter, the higher the probability that I’ll see something spoilery about TFA and I DON’T WANT THAT. So the queue is all set up for tomorrow (and actually the next couple weeks) and I’ll catch you all Saturday morning!

(Also I really, really, really have to finish my Yuletide fic.)

hmm

Thinking about doing a series of posts on the mods I use (and/or am planning to use when I do the big reinstall in December). I know I’m super behind on posts I said I would do in August…just kicking around blog ideas! I have lots more .gifs to post still too 🙂

behind on things

Just got back from vacation a couple days ago and I start the fourth year of my PhD program tomorrow…so I’m a little behind on the writing I planned to do. Namely, a meta post about using Skyrim to reflect on real-world issues, and then a whole alphabet’s worth of character bios/ficlets.

I’ll get to them soon, but I have to finish my syllabus and some research work first!!
